Do you have to receive treatment from the company doctor?

The answer is NO. You should see your own doctor. Under the Illinois Worker's Compensation Act, you're allowed to see two doctors of your choice and any doctors that they refer you to see. At some point in time, your employer has the right to have you examined by a doctor of their choice, but you choose who will be your treating physician.

Why is this so important? First you want an unbiased opinion about your medical condition. Second, you want to receive treatment from a physician who won't hesitate to send you to a specialist if needed. Make sure you give your doctor a thorough history of how your accident occurred.
